János Tamás Varga
Managing Partner
János Tamás embodies the values of inspiring leadership, striving for perfection, commitment, courage and harmony. He has managed to create a successful team of lawyers, who are all experts in different legal fields, who understand the commercial realities of business, and who are, at the same time, all masters of collaboration.
János Tamás has developed real expertise and experience across a wide range of practices, transactions and legal matters with cross-border elements over the last 14 years. His practice mainly focuses on large IT and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) transactions as well as strategic and financial M&A transactions, primarily in the technology sectors (information technology, software development, online media, broadcasting, telecommunications, laser technology and biotechnology).
His experience includes acting for both service providers and customers on a wide range of outsourcing transactions. He has advised market leading Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) services providers on their biggest Hungarian projects in the financial services, telecommunications, energy and utility industries, and he also advises leading financial services providers as customers of BPO service providers.
As an M&A specialist, he advises international private equity, venture capital and strategic investors on their investments into Hungarian companies. Industries on which he regularly advises in relation to M&A activity include communications, software development, manufacturing, consumer goods, fast food, real estate, financial sector, laser technology, online and offline media, healthcare and biotechnology. He has been involved as lead counsel in over 50 investment and divestment transactions.
In addition, János Tamás regularly acts for clients in high-value civil and employment litigation and in arbitrations and he also advises on both financing and regulatory matters especially in the telecommunications and financial services sectors.

Zoltán Csernus
Zoltán is a senior partner at VJT & Partners. He is a committed lawyer who strives for perfection in all aspects of his professional life. Zoltán is known as an all-rounder; however, his major areas of practice are commercial contracts, corporate M&A, dispute resolution as well as restructuring and insolvency.
A multi-skilled lawyer, he is able to provide comprehensive advice across a wide range of commercial arrangements including distribution, supply, agency, purchase and franchising agreements. Zoltán has nine years’ expertise in strategic M&A and private equity transactions.
He regularly represents clients in commercial, corporate and insurance litigation, disputes involving distressed companies and distressed assets as well as in court enforcement procedures. He is also frequently involved in disputes in other jurisdictions with Hungarian legal aspects in which the firm acts in conjunction with local counsel. He has represented all kinds of corporate clients in insolvency cases, both secured and unsecured creditors, debtor companies and companies seeking business opportunities in the recovery of debtor companies.
Zoltán graduated from the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest in 2000 and received an LLM from the Central European University, Budapest in 2001. Besides English and Hungarian he is also fluent in both Serbian and Croatian.

Gábor Hacsi
Gábor joined VJT & Partners following his graduation and was made a partner in 2011. Well-known for his commitment and courage in both his private and professional life, Gábor specialises in competition and insurance law; and has extensive expertise in these areas.
He also has a wide-range of experience in general commercial issues and corporate law. Gábor advises major insurance companies in regulatory as well as civil law matters. He has recently advised a major crop production company in relation to the restructuring of its wholesale business processes.
Gábor graduated from the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest in 2006. He also received a post-graduate degree in the field of competition law from the Faculty of Law of Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Budapest in 2010. He was a member of Bibó István College of Law, Budapest between 2003 and 2009.

Dóra Bocskov-Szabó
Dóra joined VJT & Partners following her graduation and was made a partner in 2011. As harmony has always been at the heart of her life, she also nurtures this element in her career.
Dóra’s main focus is employment law; she has extensive experience in this field and she has advised a number of multinational clients on a wide variety of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
Her experience in employment law covers due diligence, employee transfers in outsourcing and M&A transactions, employment litigation, implementation of foreign employment agreement templates in the Hungarian legal environment, preparing internal HR policies and guidelines, advising on termination matters including mass dismissals and advising on immigration matters.
Dóra has also been involved in a number of highly complex employment litigation matters concerning unlawful termination and damages claims.
In addition to her employment law expertise she also advises clients on regulatory matters in the financial services and energy sectors.
Dóra graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Szeged in 2006. She also graduated from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Szeged in both English (in 2002) and Hungarian (in 2004).
