VJT & Partners' highly-rated employment lawyers have a wealth of experience in all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. We are acknowledged for understanding our clients’ business needs and intentions, while designing structures and procedures that are watertight and defensible in any court proceeding.
We regularly advise employers - from global market leaders to local start-ups - on general employment law matters including drafting employment agreements, internal policies, termination agreements, termination notices and complex mass dismissal structures as well as employee incentive schemes. We also advise executive employees on their employment agreements which are often linked with separate bonus and share option agreements. We have particular expertise in managing work permit applications and handling various employment and labour related issues arising during mergers and acquisitions, and also in commercial transactions such as outsourcing.
Our team has successfully represented employers and executive employees in numerous court proceedings in Hungary. We are experienced in disputes concerning a wide range of issues including unlawful termination, overtime payment, damages and bonus claims.
The employment practice group recently advised a global financial services provider on employee transfer issues as well as a complex redundancy project. We also advised a multinational company in relation to the offering of its mother company’s listed shares to employees as part of an employee incentive scheme. We recently advised a multinational retail company on documentation of working time of its executive employees. We also advised another multinational company on a policy regulating their employees’ use of personal IT devices during their work. Our recent contentious employment work includes advising a client on non-compete payment claims and representing a major outsourcing company in connection with unlawful termination as well as overtime payment claims. Currently we represent multinational companies as employers in two separate litigations launched by former executives claiming unlawful termination of their agreements.
